Former Cleveland Browns running backs coach Gary Brown passed away at the age of 52. Brown was hired to coach in Cleveland by Eric Mangini in 2009 and remained with the team until 2012.

Gary Brown played as a RB in the NFL for eight seasons and recorded over 1,000 rushing yards twice in his career. After being drafted by the Houston Oilers, he also played for the San Diego Chargers and New York Giants before retiring in 1999.

After retiring from playing in the NFL, Brown went on to coach at the high school and collegiate level. After his tenure with the Cleveland Browns (2009–2012) he was a running backs coach for the Dallas Cowboys from 2013–2019. He most recently coached the running backs for the University of Wisconsin.
